"Lock Character" option!!
First off let me say I realize this most likely has been posted before, but I believe it's importance warrants another thread so ANet can make the appropriate (and simple!) program update.
As we all know, it appears that account-hacks are on the rise. ANet is definitely aware of this per their Announcement while logging on.
Imho the biggest loss cause by an account-hack would be the deletion of one's 'main' char. Many of us have easily spent 1000+ hours acquiring titles on our mains, and the thought of a hacker deleting that char and having to start all over is a bit frightening to say the least!
So, why can't ANet have a one-time option to lock these characters? Meaning that once you choose to lock the character(s), you may NEVER delete it. Seems to me this would be a huge step in minimizing the potential loss of an account-hack.
{Of course there's the issues of armor and items that could also be deleted, but for now let's just focus on the character-locking issue itself.}
This is a good idea right guys?
ANet - please make this happen asap!!

By never unlocking it do you mean that the character may never be deleted?
If so then /signed, seems like a fair idea.

for never being deleted /signed
i hope you dont mean never unlocked as not being able to use it again, that would just be weird
i think possibly an option to have another password on 1 or 2 characters, differnet from your account password, or they could still log in and sell all your armour weapons etc.
thats almost as crippling

Sorry yes - by 'never unlock' I definitely mean you may never delete the character (in fact I changed my original wording from 'NEVER unlock' to 'NEVER delete').
I'm sure the majority of us have that one character we would never dream of deleting, and this would be a SIMPLE way to prevent that from ever happening

I know, but she's not the one that decides what is declined. She just informs us about what the dev team declines, and sometimes the reason why it was declined.

I guess I'll get this out for all of you.
Anet doesn't care about changing the games scripts that much.
Thats y it takes 2 months to get a decent nerf out, and of course they ruin the skill all together.

Whether or not this is true, if enough people support this thread then perhaps ANet will make the change.
So show your support people! I mean honestly, why would anyone be against this? (especially ANet)? This just seems like a logical fix to a potential problem that NONE of us want to ever face...

Keep in mind that my idea has nothing to do with whether or not you can change your account password.
What I'm saying is for any character you are given a one-time option to lock that character from ever being deleted. It must be a one-time option so a hacker doesn't go in and just unlock the character and then delete it.
*** Once you select 'Yes' to locking that character, it may never be deleted. ***
Should be a simple update on ANet's part...

I will never delete my 10 main characters.
But I don't really see a need for this.
Although if they added this, they should also add a way to retake the titles that cannot currently be retaken.

Believe me - if someone hacked your account and deleted those 10 characters - I think you would pretty quickly see the need for this.

Let's stay on topic with this please {I don't want to get away from the 'character-locking' issue I'm proposing here...}
